Sept. 1, 2021, 3:56 p.m. - Sept. 11, 2021, 8:13 p.m. at Marseille Chanot, Marsella, Francia
The first hybrid in-person and virtual environmental event since the pandemic began, the IUCN World Conservation Congress will drive action on nature-based recovery, climate change and biodiversity for decades to come. Scientists, policy experts, business leaders and professionals from around the globe share their experience, innovation and latest research from September 3 to 11 in Marseille, France.
Previously held in Hawaii, USA (2016), IUCN Members took over 120 decisions on major conservation issues and this, along with the momentum, knowledge and commitments generated at the event, helped move the recently-adopted Paris Climate Agreement and UN Sustainable Development Goals into action. IUCN’s unique and inclusive membership gives this Congress a powerful mandate as it is not solely government or non-government, but both together.
The Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) as one of IUCN's key Knowledge Products to provide reliable information on the state of biodiversity, will have an important space within the congress through participation of the RLE Thematic Group members in different sessions.
