The Forum of Experts in SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting is organized by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment), the World Bank, and the European Union project “Natural Capital Accounting and Valuation of Ecosystem Services”.
The SEEA Experimental Ecosystem Accounting constitutes an integrated statistical framework for organizing biophysical data, measuring ecosystem services, tracking changes in ecosystem assets and linking this information to economic and other human activity.
Forum participants will include statisticians, researchers and experts in the area of ecosystem accounting, ecosystem modeling, spatial analysis of ecosystem services, and environmental and ecological economics, as well as earth observation specialists. Representatives of the project partner countries, namely Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Africa, and other countries having experience in the compilation of ecosystem accounting will be in attendance.
The IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) will be participating with a presentation by Carlos Zambrana-Torrelio from EcoHealth Alliance. Come to join us!
