The Red List of Ecosystems team extends its thanks to the photographers and nature lovers who attended this call and participated in the fourth edition of the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest - My Place in Nature. We are pleased to announce that the first round of voting by a Jury successfully ended.

Since we began receiving photographs, more than 200 photographers joined us in this campaign to promote and disseminate knowledge about the world's ecosystems, their current condition, and their changes. We received more than 250 submissions from all over the world, and all of the planet’s continents were represented.

For this fourth edition of the contest, we had two modalities (Individual Photo and Photo Series). Participation within these modalities received more than 300 individual photographs and more than 70 photo series.

The voting process consists of a first round by a qualified jury, the finalist photographs selected by said jury are handle to the public for a second round of voting. One overall winner will be selected for each of the two modalities (Individual Photo and Photo Series) based on the combined votes from the Jury and the general public (voting on Facebook). The first place winners for each of the two modalities will be awarded direct costs to attend the Forum of the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2020 to be held in Marseille, France, or costs paid up to $2000 (whichever is lower).

We invite you to visit our Facebook and participate by voting for your favorite photograph!
