The Fourth IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest has begun!

The Fourth IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest will accept applications from November 26, 2018 to April 30, 2019.

Are you passionate about nature? Do you worry about how your environment or the places you have visited since childhood are being modified? Do you like photography? Now you can participate in the Fourth IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest: My Place in Nature. The contest is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers worldwide.

Launched in the framework of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s 70th anniversary, this new edition of the contest seeks to promote knowledge of the different ecosystems of the world, as well as their current status and changes, by inviting photographers to share their stories on ecosystems and show us your very own place in nature. Capture the essence of a place or event in nature that has left you a lasting impression due to its beauty, power or uniqueness and share images of any ecosystem, either free from human intervention or altered by it.

The goal is to make use of the communicative power of photographs to promote the conservation of both ecosystems and the diversity of species that live within them through knowledge, and we can all participate! The period for registration and reception of photographs will be open from November 26th, 2018 to April 30th, 2019.

For more details about the contest, visit the "Fourth Photo Contest" section on the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) official website. There you will find everything you need to participate:

The submitted photographs will be evaluated in a first round by a jury, and those with the highest scores will pass to a second round in which they will be evaluated by the general public. The winners will be announced on IUCN RLE social media and finalists will be exhibited at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, to be held in 2020 in Marseille, France.

Learn about our place in nature by following the contest submissions on Instagram and Facebook, and let us know which photos you like the best!
