The prestigious World Conservation Congress of the IUCN 2016 was held in Hawaii under the motto “Planet on Crossroads” and the Red List of Ecosystems had a leading role in it.
It’s common to hear discussions about conservation, endangered species, and threatened ecosystems. However, funding towards these types of initiatives is rarely discussed.

On May 20, 2016, the RLE team celebrates the second anniversary of the formal approval by IUCN of the Categories and Criteria for the identification of threatened ecosystems, the Red List of Ecosystems. The celebrations include a new website and a photo contest.
